Askalaps — Time Tracking UX Concept
A user-centered time-tracking solution developed through the Human-Centered Design (HCD) framework for the User Experience (UEX3VO) course at FH Hagenberg.
Project Briefing & Core Problem
Freelancers and small agencies often struggle with cumbersome time-tracking interfaces that disrupt their daily workflow rather than supporting it.
The objective of this hands-on case study was to systematically analyze real user needs, synthesize findings into clear requirements, and translate them step-by-step from low-fidelity wireframes into an interactive, component-driven Figma prototype.
From User Research to High-Fidelity Prototype
This case study documents the end-to-end UX methodology applied throughout the course, following standardized ISO Human-Centered Design phases.
Planning & User Research
Problem definition, desk research, competitor analysis, and qualitative user interviews to define target groups and uncover core pain points.
Research Synthesis
Translation of raw research data using Affinity Diagramming into actionable artifacts: Personas, Empathy Maps, and User Journey Scenarios.
Low-Fidelity Prototyping
Wireframing and Information Architecture design evaluated strictly against Jakob Nielsen's 10 Usability Heuristics for UI consistency.
Evaluation & Testing
Usability testing and expert evaluation to identify interaction bottlenecks and refine interface flows prior to high-fidelity implementation.
High-Fidelity & Figma System
Interactive prototype with nested components, Auto-Layout grids, strict style tokens, and complex components utilizing 3+ variants & properties.
